Evolution as proposed by Charles Darwin is the biggest theory that changed my perspective of life. This theory has changed everything about my outlook towards existence, be it the environment or the developmental phases that I go through in life.
The remarkable thing about evolution is its straightforwardness and applies everywhere. The notion that every being with life is including human beings, changed with time from simple living forms to highly complex ones over more than a billion years, is damn inspiring. This proves to be of great help in not only understanding how life takes a varying turn every now and then but also in expounding how every person on earth develops and matures with time. Every one of us plays a part in this huge thing because we all have a source and every one of us inside this huge organism transform wears out because of the changing arrays of the environment.
This theory also redefined my understanding of strength and change and how I should incorporate them into my life. For example, as evolution entails meeting challenges with a newer form in order to compete, it dawned on me that I have to also changing in a more or less evolutionary way to survive the conditions of life. Change is always vital for growth whether it involves overcoming challenges or acquisition of new knowledge. Even the belief that over time small and almost insignificant changes could add up comes into play and when these things come into play, I have learned to be calm and resolute in personal growth.
Besides enhancing one’s self, the doctrine of evolution by natural selection also advanced the inclusion of nature at a deeper level. Every being, however little, or even irrelevant, has a long timeline of evolution behind it. This concept brings humility and awe and in turn encourages one to appreciate the extent of interconnection of all forms of life.
In short, Darwins theory not only transformed my perspective on biology, it transformed my perspective on the problems of life, appreciation for the process of learning and existence on the planet - into something radically new. It is a call, that we are always evolving in one way or the other and everyone has that ability to adapt and make a difference in the cause that is life.
